Gay A. Giles, CPA, is the Business Manager for the Mountain House Community Services District. Gay is responsible for all business functions of the MHCSD. She spent the last 7 years, prior to the CSD, as the Business Manager for a school district in Sacramento County. Prior to the school district, she spent 15 years working in aerospace, the last 6 of which were as the Business Manager of the Information Resources Department.

Gay has an undergraduate degree in education and holds a Masters in Business from San Jose State University. She earned her CPA license while working for one of the “Big 8” CPA firms, Touche Ross, in San Francisco. Her experience of Public Accounting is varied and the exposure to a variety of businesses and business practices has been extremely valuable to the MHCSD.

Gay has been a member of the California Society of CPA’s, the American Institute of CPA’s, and the National Management Association. Gay was also president and treasurer of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting fraternity at San Jose State and she earned the outstanding member award for two semesters.

Gay has been on the Board of the Lupus Foundation of America, Northern California chapter, for four years. She has held the offices of Chairperson and Treasurer of the Board. In addition, Gay was treasurer for the Berryessa Little League for 5 years, while her son played Little League there.

Gay has been teaching in the community college system for 21 years on a part-time basis. This enables her utilize her undergraduate degree in elementary education, which along with her accounting experience brings real life examples into the classroom.

She has been active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and is a charter member of the Elk Grove Flotilla. She hopes to resume actively sailing every weekend by the Spring of 2005, while becoming more active in the Treasure Island Yacht Club.
