RESIDENT UPDATE: Information Regarding Municipal Utility Account Refunds
4/1/2010
Termination of water notices that were issued prior to October 2009, did not include the total amount owed by the customer, as required by law. Due to this deficiency, the MHCSD will begin refunding customers who paid restoration of water charges for water terminations that occurred from October 2006 through October 2009. Customers with active accounts, that paid these charges, will see a credit by the May bill. For customers that no longer have an active account, the MHCSD has developed a claim process through which customers can request a refund.
Prior to February 10, 2010, late charges that were imposed on the due date, instead of thirty days after the due date, will also be refunded. In order to request either a credit (active accounts only) or a refund, a claim must be submitted to the MHCSD.
Customers requesting a credit or refund in either of the above circumstances must file a claim by March 10, 2011.
The attached flyer outlines the basic process for filing a claim. The claim forms are attached and are also available at the MHCSD office. If you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact us at 209-831-2300.

Dear Residents,
10/8/2009
You may notice a discoloration of the treated water in the distribution system. Our treatment plant operators have indicated that the tint in the water is due to an increase in the iron in the Delta water due to a fall release of the water from the lower levels of the reservoirs, which contains more Iron. To deal with this, we have increased the chemicals that take the iron out. This change in the turbidity of water is not a health issue and does not cause harm. It is, however, a visual problem and we have taken steps to correct that. Potassium Permanganate is used to reduce the iron in the water, which clears the yellowish tint from the water that iron causes. It may take a few days before you can see the clear water at your faucet or bathtub.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the MHCSD at 831-2300.

Mountain House Holds First Swearing-In Ceremony for the Newly Elected Board Directors
12/9/2008
The Mountain House Community Services District (MHCSD) held its historic swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Board Directors on Friday, December 5 in the MHCSD Board Room.
MHCSD Board Directors Matthew Balzarini, Jim Lamb, Eric Payne, Andy Su and Bernice King Tingle received the Oath of Office from Supervisor Leroy Ornellas in front of a crowd of approximately 100 community Directors, friends and family.
One of the first items on the MHCSD board agenda was to determine the term of office for each Board Director. To establish term of office Board Directors flipped a ceremonial coin simultaneously. The coin had four stars on one side which represented a 4-year term and two stars on the other side for the 2-year term. Board Directors Jim Lamb, Andy Su and Bernice King-Tingle received the 4-year term of office, while Board Directors Eric Payne and Matthew Balzarini received the 2-year term of office.
Board Directors then nominated and voted for the MHCSD Board President and Vice President. Board Director Payne was elected as President and Board Director King-Tingle as Vice President.
In addition, the Board Directors establish the second Wednesday of each month as the date for future Board meetings. All of the MHCSD board meetings will be available through live streaming video and archives of past meetings will be available on the MHCSD website.
Once the official business was complete, Board Directors were able to enjoy the refreshments and mingle with community members, family and friends.

Mountain House celebrates its 5th Annual Halloween Parade and Children's Festival
11/3/2008
Ghosts, goblins, princesses, and even Wall-E made an appearance at the Mountain House Mothers Club's 5th Annual Halloween Parade and Children's Festival. This year's event was a huge success and attended by several hundred children and their families!
The day featured the much-loved children's costume parade around Wicklund Park, ending with candy in the gazebo. The parade was led by Christina Pomykal, MHMC Halloween Parade Coordinator, Vicki Beckman, MHMC President, and by Doodles the Clown, sponsored by the Mountain House Community Services District. Following the parade, Doodles was kept very busy with face painting and the games were in full swing! This year, a few new things were added to the event. Comcast Cable sponsored a very popular petting zoo. Everyone was a winner in the Decorated & Carved Pumpkin Contest! And families were lined up to take a picture at the Family Photo Spot, sponsored by Della Osso Farms and Dayak's Den.
As always, these events are only successful because of the volunteer efforts of the MHMC and its supporters. The MHMC, its members, their families, and their friends donated 55 hours of their time on the day of the event alone. This year, the MHMC held its first fundraiser to help support the club and the events it puts on for the community. Because of the deep love for caramel corn in Mountain House, the MHMC was able to raise $135, which will go toward the next event.

Welcome to your new MHCSD website!
10/7/2008
Welcome to your new Mountain House Community Services District (MHCSD) website. We hope you will take some time to become familiar with and take advantage of some of the new website features. We have included some new, exciting features and sections to better serve your needs.
For your convenience the menu along the left-side of the home page includes many of the same sections from our previous website. However, the What’s New section allows you to easily access recent copies of the MHCSD community newsletter, an MHCSD calendar with dates of community events and board meetings, a facilities reservation form and a quick link to any public documents the MHCSD has available.
The center section features articles regarding some of the latest news at Mountain House and within the MHCSD. Please visit frequently to stay abreast of what is happening at Mountain House.
The green buttons on the right side column may vary from time to time, but features some of the sections that Mountain House residents will want to visit frequently. Some highlights include a quick link to the Service Request section, Permit Information, FAQs and Volunteer Opportunities. Also, you may notice the link titled Pay your Utility Bills. Now Mountain House residents are able to pay their utility bills on-line. It is a fairly simple process and we hope you find this immensely convenient. Please note that the MHCSD will no longer be able to accept your payment at the MHCSD office using your credit card. The MHCSD will have a computer available to access and pay your utility bill using the on-line system.
Near the bottom of the home page you will find the Top 5 Requested Pages which will be links to the sections most frequently visited and a highlighted section of upcoming events and meetings.
Along the top you will find sections for the Mountain House residents, visitors and businesses. As the Mountain House community grows, we anticipate that these sections will evolve. Please visit the Community Slideshow section and enjoy some of the photos of our community and community events.
Lastly, be sure to sign up for our e-alerts. In addition, to our normal process of notifying Mountain House residents of MHCSD news through water bill notifications and community postcards, we will now be able to send you email alerts regarding upcoming meetings, events and other news worthy items regarding the MHCSD.
We hope you enjoy your new MHCSD website. As always we appreciate your comments and feedback and look forward to your assistance in helping us to better serve you.
